With grant funding, Breathe California of the Bay Area provides no-cost services to individuals over the age of 60 living in San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Los Altos.

Clean Indoor Air & Fall Prevention
Home Assessment

People spend about 90 percent of their time indoors; thus, the risks to health may be greater from exposure to indoor air pollution than air pollution from outdoors. Breathe California of the Bay Area offers a free program that assesses potential indoor air pollutants in seniors' homes. Combined with the clean indoor air home assessment, a fall prevention assessment can be done during the same visit. The results are completely confidential, and many remedies are simple.

1-on-1 Smoking Cessation or "Tobacco Talks"

Seniors are given a 30-minute overview of the 5 A's and 5 R's of smoking cessation and are able to discuss and understand their habits. Resources are provided to seniors to enable them to continue on their cessation journey.

Provision of Respiratory Equipment

Seniors are offered grant-funded sleep apnea equipment including CPAP machines, hoses, and masks. Some seniors may also be eligible for nebulizers.
